This is Eric’s Brain. While I was at UBC, a friend of mine was doing studies with MRI’s. He needed test subjects, and the incentive was a picture of your brain. I eagerly accepted and got to sit inside a long narrow tube with elevator music playing. I’m not really claustrophobic, and the loud “banging” of the machine didn’t bug me, but sitting in there for 2 hours was unpleasant. BUT I got these awesome pictures of my brain! How cool is that?

For Eric’s 30th Birthday, Tim and Elaine came up from Kingston to surprise him. There’s nothing like having your sister and brother-in-law taunt you and spoil you with fun gifts. Although Eric doesn’t generally like surprises, he was certainly touched to see them.

This past weekend, we celebrated Eric’s 30th birthday. On Friday night, my family took him out for dinner at a restaurant of his choice. We dined at Gabriel’s Ristorante Bar Grill, the food was fantastic and it was quite a nice place.
