We would like to announce the arrival of Hailey Alexandra Strohm, born on February 17th at 6:24 a.m. at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Hailey weighed in at 7 lb 4 oz. Our little bundle of joy has quickly stolen the hearts of everyone around her and has us all wrapped around her tiny little finger!

We really enjoyed the holidays this year. We decided to host two dinners with approximately 20 guests each time. This finally gave people a chance to check out our place, which we’ve been in for over a year; yes, this was long overdue. The holidays were a lot less hectic this year, which may have something to do with not traveling as much and Bahar not being on call during the break!

We were invited to a nice family dinner on November 21st for Ken’s 70th Birthday, which was on the 25th. This was then followed by a celebration with Ken and Helen’s friends. Unfortunately for Ken, these friends had quite a sense of humour, which Ken bravely endured. What a great sport! A fun time was had by all!

Eric and Bahar, along with 11 other family members, took a 7 day Alaskan Cruise on the Sapphire Princess this fall. We took a flight to Anchorage, Alaska, where we embarked the ship. From here, we cruised through the College Fjord and Glacier Bay. We then visited Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and finally disembarked in Vancouver.

On September 4th, we attended a party to celebrate the birth of Sal and Sophie’s son. Caleb Maurice Dayaram was born on June 7th. He is just the most easy going baby, who is happy being picked up by anyone and can sleep through any amount of noise!

We spent mother’s day with aunty Nimu at Toronto General Hospital. She was recovering well and we wanted to do something a little special for her. Mo baked his famous cheesecake and we had the family sign a gigantic singing card! We even had her grand puppies sign it!

Butters

This Christmas was incredibly busy. By the end of the season, we had attended six family get togethers. We are hoping the next month will be full of sleeping in and mooching, which our many new board games will make even more entertaining. Check out the pics of time spent with Eric’s side of the family and Bahar’s side of the family.

We spent Greek Easter at Elaine and Joe’s. We had a nice time stuffing ourselves with lots of food and three fantastic desserts. As you can see in most of the pics, the family had a ball checking out the Yazoo family site, especially Marie, who had a lot of trouble recognizing Helen! “Which Helen?!”

We attended Mo’s graduation ceremony at the University of Guelph on February 19th, 2008. It was a great ceremony - short and sweet with some really motivating speakers. Mo received a Bachelor of Computing degree with a minor in Business Administration. Congrats Mo and welcome to the working world suckah!

Jedi

This year we had three parties with Eric’s side of the family. We spent December 15th at Bob & Pat’s with Tim and Elaine. We were supposed to head over to Helen & Ken’s later that day, but Eric was battling a killer cold, so we postponed it till the 22nd. We then visited Liz & Don on the 29th. Emily now gets the concept of Christmas presents, which makes a huge pile of Secret Santa gifts irresistible. The best part is she actually cleans up all the gift wrap when the party is over.

We spent Christmas day with Bahar’s side of the family. If our tree looks a little funny this year, it’s because Mo put it up and ran out of lights by the bottom.

We spent New Year’s with Bahar’s family and New Year’s Eve at James’ playing Guitar Hero and board games.
